GULLY WINES
MORE ABOUT ECO-CERTIFICATION What is Ecotourism? - "Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation". Ecotourism Australia currently delivers two certification programs for the industry: The ECO Certification Program and the Eco-Guide Australia Program. Both programs are industry driven and designed to set high standards for the Ecotourism and Nature Based tourism industries. Ecotourism
and nature tourism certification provide
industry, protected area managers, local communities and travellers
with
an assurance that a certified product is backed by a commitment to best
practice ecological sustainability, natural area management and the
provision of quality ecotourism experiences. What
is the
ECO Certification Program? The Eco
Certification Program is a world first. It has been developed by industry
for industry, addressing the need to identify genuine ecotourism and
nature tourism operators in Australia. The Eco Certification Program is
now being exported to the rest of the world as the International
Ecotourism Standard. The ECO Certification Program is a triple bottom line program that includes comprehensive coverage of the elements of economic, environmental and social sustainability. ECO Certification represents current best practice in the ecotourism industry. With the inclusion of business criteria, the ECO Certification Program now provides you with the “green tick” – the Accredited Tourism Business Australia tick (also known as NTAP and TABV). This effectively provides you with two certifications as a result of one application. At
