ADELAIDE HILLS FIRST ECO CERTIFIED CELLAR DOOR

THE MOST AUTHENTIC ECO-WINE TASTING EXPERIENCE 

IN THE ADELAIDE HILLS

Sinclair’s Gully is the first Adelaide Hills ECO certified cellar door and the second in Australia to achieve this milestone.

ECO certification is a triple bottom line program that requires comprehensive coverage of the 3 elements of sustainability; economic, environmental and social sustainability.

The ECO certification program recognises that Sue and Sean Delaney have achieved best practice ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas, that foster environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation.

 Recognising their contributions to local environmental groups and dedication over the past 11 years to restore and protect the 20 acres of endangered candle bark bushland on their property. With over 150 species of plants and 66 species of birds (many being threatened or rare) the Candlebark Open Forest has been listed as the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Range's number 1 priority for conservation.

Other environmental awards and accolades over the past 12 months include;

Winner of the 2007 Rural Landholder Award for the Protection of a Threatened Species or Ecosystem by the Adelaide and Mt Lofty Ranges NRM Board (May 2007)

To celebrate this milestone, Sue and Sean are opening Sinclair’s Gully to the public for a series of twilight tastings, each Friday night during February. A highlight of the evening will be enjoying the sounds of Sinclair’s Gully at dusk with glass in hand, while watching the black cockatoos fly in at sunset. (Friday evenings 5-9pm. Wine (from $5 a glass) and platters available ($15-25). Bookings essential on 8390 1995)

Sinclair’s Gully’s recently opened cellar door offers visitors an opportunity to experience this beautiful and rare bushland while enjoying a glass of the very best Adelaide Hills cool climate wine and a regional platter. You will find Sinclair’s Gully at Norton Summit in the Adelaide Hills just 20 minutes from the Adelaide CBD. Children are welcome, with a grassed area and play equipment adjacent to the tasting room and courtyard.

flower walks, and twilight tastings for small groups.
